Mild citrus, light herbal aroma. Fixative, vulnerary properties, grounding. In the same "resin" family as Frankincense and Myrrh. Great blend base.
Good for colds and flu. With its antiseptic properties, it is also good for infected cuts and wounds. Good for getting rid of those mystery (viral) rashes or allergic rashes. Often used in conjunction with Frankincense in wound healing and skin infections. Used to help alleviate asthma.
Add the less expensive Elemi oil to Frankincense and/or Myrrh to make a synergistic blend and reduce the cost, but not the effectiveness, of Frankincense or Myrrh.
Elemi is highly regarded for smoothing wrinkles, for skin protection and for soothing muscles after exercise.
Elemi oil, Philippines Steam distilled resin from the native Philippine tree yields as high as 30 percent. The clear oil is fresh and lemon-like with a pleasant, clean and peppery scent.
