Lavender oil, Fine High Alttitude. The scent is fresh and sweet, floral, natural and winsome. Unlike some floral extracts, this Lavender is not the least bit nauseating or overpowering, though decidedly floral. Chemically the European lavenders are quite similar. Linalool, linalyl acetate, fufural, valeric aldehyde, amyl alcohol, pinene, cineol, and various other components occur naturally in this Lavender. English Lavender has higher linalool content. However, this high altitude Lavender has a higher ester content than lavenders cultivated at lower altitudes. For Lavender, high altitudes are preferable. The distillations carried out at higher altitudes tend to produce improved oils, due to lower distillation temperatures.
All of The Oil Shoppe's essential oils are therapeutic-grade oils. We do not sell commercial grade essential oils. That said, there are different grades of therapeutic oils. When you are comparing lavender oils on our Web site, pay attention to price. The higher the price, the better the grade (quality) of essential oil. Be aware the High Altitude Lavenders are of excellent quality, but the organic Lavender outshines them all.
