"This ancient essential oil is rich in phenylpropanoids and is usually used in combination with other essential oils. It was used in holy anointing oil and incense and for perfumes. It was an aromatic stimulant and a tonic for the digestive system. Today it is used to relax muscles, relieve inflammation, support the respiratory system, and clear kidney congestion after intoxication. It is taken orally, inhaled as incense, and applied topically over the abdomen." taken from The Maker's Diet by Jordan S. Rubin
